MENTAL FINLAND

De nieuwe voorstelling van de Finse regisseur Kristian Smeds die in februari in première gaat in KVS heeft tenslotte een definitieve titel: Mental Finland. In deze voorstelling geeft Kristian Smeds vorm aan zijn visie op de toekomst van de Europese Unie.

It is the crazy year of 2069. The All Mighty European Union has spread itself all over the continent and taken back it’s ancient name:

The Roman Empire.

The bureaucratic Roman Troops are ruling everything. The peace and harmony is unbreakable. No borders exist anymore, languages have been harmonized as one, all national habits and peculiarities have been forbidden.

Suddenly there is a disturbance in the harmony – the Romans find out that there is one group of people, which has not given up.

They are the Finns.

Living inside a huge shipping container, they are travelling around the harbors of Europe and preserving their own language, strange customs and bad habits and they seem to neglect every law of the new Roman Empire.

The secret of the Finns seems to be a magic drink, which gives them unbelievable powers...
